Cocoa and Dream Girl playing dress up with Barbie clothes:
I got a new outfit for Rory at Target, complete with shoes! Actually the shoes are the main reason I bought the outfit, because it's for
the Only Hearts Club dolls, which are smaller than TK. I had heard that the shoes would fit, but the clothes wouldn't. Sadly, I couldn't
find any of the accessory packs that just have shoes, a hat, and a purse at Target, so I had to get a fashion pack instead. But upon
further investigation, I discovered that I could make the clothes fit! I do that a lot. So here is Rory with her new shoes, socks, skirt,
halter top that can be worn two ways, purse, and poncho. Rather cute little getup, isn't it?
I made Kitty a new denim skirt and got a picture of the
back of the tank top above.
And I made a new blue top. It looks cute with the
khaki skirt. Shoes on both dolls are by Jakks Pacific.
More new clothes! I made the reversible skirt in the first
two pictures and the layered skirt also pictured above, but
the tops are from more Only Hearts fashion packs that I
will deconstruct below. The shoes, hats, and purses are
separate accessory packs, also by Only Hearts.
Outfit one: Fortunately the pants were the only part of this ensemble that needed adjusting.
They were too skinny, so I took out the side seams and sewed contrasting ribbon to both
seam allowances to close the gap, and added a waistband to give a finished look. On the left
is the outfit complete with vest and purse (sadly one of the same purses from the accessory
packs) and on the right is just the jeans and top. I removed the little ties that were on the
top, which you can see in the photos above, because I thought they looked a little funny.

Outfit two: Again I only had to alter the pants, but I didn't want to do it the same way.
Fortunately the "pockets" on these were separate pieces, so I again took out the side seams,
but only at the top, and removed the pockets. Then I made new pockets from contrasting
fabric and sewed them under the extended seams allowances. I cut the original pockets each
in half and sealed the edges with nail polish, then sewed them into a strip for the waistband.
Shown here with and without coat, hat, and muff.
The shoes are pictured on this page,
along with other footwear I have
acquired for TK.
