On November 5, 2006, I attempted my first ever boil perm! I was nervous, because I had only boil-straightened a
doll's hair before, and I wanted it to turn out right. But it did, and I am very happy with the results! So here she is,
Dream Girl Tiny Kitty, who had a very lovely hairdo before I took it down, too:
But I can never leave a doll's hair alone! I took
it down and straightened it, but I still wasn't
happy with it because then the only style it
looked good in was a ponytail.
So I curled it! I cut up drinking straws and wrapped the hair with lots of gel around
them, securing each curler with a bobby pin. Then I poured boiling water over her
whole head! It was a fun process, but I'm afraid Kitty was not happy with me:
The next day I took the curlers out, and before I brushed the curls out she looked like Shirley Temple!
I washed all the gel out and conditioned the hair and let it dry again, but in the meantime she kind of
looked like Medusa:
I am not affiliated in any way with the Tonner Doll Company,
American Girl, Hasbro, or Mattel.
Then I brushed it all out to get the long, loose waves I had been going for:
And styled it in almost every way I could think of!
