This was my very first rerooting project, a wedding present for my best friend. I made a Barbie dress closely resembling her own, and
then I needed a Barbie that looked like her, too. Problem was, I didn't have any brunette Barbies. Painting her eyes green wasn't too
big of a deal, but I had never rerooted a doll before. I didn't know much about it, but after reading simple instructions from other
people's websites, I cut the hair plug by plug from an old Princess Leia doll and transplanted it to this doll. Leia's hair was pretty
short, but it was enough to pull into a tiny ponytail, and I think it looks rather cute.
Here are a few Star Wars projects I'm currently working on: Barriss Offee, Luminara Unduli, and Aayla Secura.
I have a new page up for my Smallville dolls! Check it out:
I am not affiliated in any way with the Tonner Doll Company,
American Girl, Hasbro, Only Hearts Club, or Mattel.
And one for my Elena doll:
Here are some old, old Barbie outfits that I found this weekend (11-24-06) while cleaning my room at home:
From left to right: A very wrinkled sleeveless dress I made without a pattern, a cute nightgown I also made
up, a velvet skirt and plaid coat that I made using an old pattern of my mom's, and a velvet and lace dress
that amazingly worked, even though the bodice was made from one piece!
I have been working on this series of exotic and fantastical Barbie outfits for a few years now, but just got around to taking pictures
this weekend (4-9-07). Well, one picture anyway:
From left to right: a Lady of the Lake, a Snow Queen, a Genie, an Amazon Goddess, and a
Faun. There is also a Mermaid in this series, but she couldn't be in the picture because she is
currently headless, as I am in the process of rerooting her. (She's going to have purple hair!)
The Snow Queen's dress is also in progress, so she's wearing an old wedding gown while I
work on it, and the Faun's hair is eventually going to be red and curly. And she'll have horns.
The first doll is finished! Click here:
