Brenda's new best friend is Ella, a 1940's Seventeen doll. I love the more natural look of her makeup, and her hair is beautiful, too.
The dress blew me away, though! I hadn't bought a Tonner dressed doll up until now, so I didn't know what to expect, but it is
exquisite! I had thought about selling it, but now I don't think I can...
I am not affiliated in any way with the Tonner Doll Company,
American Girl, Hasbro, Only Hearts Club, or Mattel.
Ella and Brenda meet, become fast friends, and try on each others' clothes!
Ella's waist is a little bigger than Brenda's and of course they can't wear the same shoes, but most things fit both of them. Now I have
two 16" dolls to sew for!
I took Ella's hair down and tried to straighten it, but the best I could do was relax the curls into waves. I think it looks nice, though.
Then I made her some new dresses. This lavender one is made completely from the hem of a dress my mom altered for someone.
The fabric for this Empire-waist dress was originally just going to be the underskirt of another dress I'm working on, but I had enough
to make it into a dress by itself. It's so rare that I have even enough fabric to make what I want that I always feel I have to use it all
up no matter what! And I used extra ribbon to tie her hair back.
8-25-07: It's been a while since
Ella got new clothes. She can
share this outfit with Brenda, also:
7-30-08: New skirt for Ella (also fits Brenda) with old silver top, and new floral skirt and wrap top:
The purple beaded skirt is old, but
I've just now gotten a picture up.
The sundress is relatively new:
I got these little fabric-covered boxes at
Michael's on clearance! They can be
ottomans for the 16" girls, plus they are
perfect storage for shoes! I bought four.
